MY   STORY

Tada_edited.png

I started developing a passion for video games around 1985. It all started with an Atari 2600. Over the years my father showed me games like IK+, Last Ninja, Oil Imperium, Summer Games and of course Grand Prix Simulator on his Commodore 128D. At the end of the 80s I got my own C64 and then I was finally hooked. It was followed by Amiga 500, Amiga 600, Amiga 2000, PC 486DXII33 with turbo button on 66Mhz :-), GameBoy, Super Nintendo, Sega Mega Drive, Sega Saturn, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox Series X. And a gaming PC has always accompanied me since the 90s. At that time without Windows, you really had to learn how to use such a device as a 12-year-old. Luckily, I've always been very affine with computer language, so I was already able to program boot disks for various games without help in order to make them run on my old box. At that time there was only DOS, so no graphical user interface. Commands like "IF" and "THEN" as well as "HIGHMEM" and "LOWMEM" have worked wonders. Even in the C64 times, my parents bought magazines in which program code for games could be typed, including explanations of how shapes and colors could be changed at will, for example. The cornerstone for being able to understand computers, which continues to bring me further today, both professionally and privately.

But apart from that, there is one genre that particularly appeals to me: Racing Games!

What actually began in 1984 with "Tomy Turbo Racing Cockpit" . I was looking for it and in the following 38 years I bought steering wheels again and again to constantly expand this feeling from back then when I was 4 years old. Unfortunately, from the age of about 35 you start to lose your ability to react. Today, at the age of 42, I visibly struggle when I spontaneously get behind the virtual wheel every few weeks. What used to be like riding a bike now takes a few hours to get used to in order to be able to master a vehicle optimally, and you have to have the time and inclination first ;-)

The genre in second place for me has always been first-person shooters, but on the PC with a keyboard and mouse. After I got fed up with Windows at some point because updates from Microsoft or the device manufacturers were constantly destroying the performance of the games (or in the worst case even the savegames were broken), I let the PC become obsolete and only played consoles. But first person shooters with controllers were not my world at all. Slow sniping was ok, but as soon as things got hectic, the fine motor skills for the analog sticks were gone. This wasn't for someone who, for example, got along quite well in the chaotic Quake II multiplayer and then could hardly move straight with a controller. Accordingly, egos on the console were taboo for me for about 10 years. In the meantime it's going quite well in single player, but I can't keep up online. The kids on consoles are better now than I was on PC back then. I don't do that to myself :-))

Otherwise, I'm open to almost anything. What became of Assassin's Creed (i.e. Prince of Persia) is fantastic! I don't think we need to talk about Witcher 3 at all, a dream! The last Tomb Raider trilogy and the last Batman games are awesome! I resisted Halo for a long time until I got my hands on Reach. I couldn't stop playing and immediately had to play through the Masterchief Collection and Halo 5. Bungie's aiming system made it extremely easy for me to use the controller, which helped me find my way back to Ego's.

So I continue to fight my way through the gaming world and would like to share my gameplay with you. I hope you have at least as much fun as I do and show me this with likes, comments, subscriptions or in other ways so that we can grow together.
